STORYLINE A Brazilian native, called Peri, saves Ceci, the daughter of a Portuguese nobleman, Dom Antônio, and starts to visit the fort where they live. By accident, Dom Antônio's son kills an Aymoré native, which deflagrates a battle, and Peri takes Ceci with him to build a new life after her parents' death.
